Once
you've narrowed your choices to two or three styles that fit your
home and budget, you then have to determine the best value. It's
important to weigh all factors, including face weight, density,
gauge, stain protection, twist level (for cut piles) or tuft bind
(for
loop piles) and warrantees.
Every Premier Collection style carries a "Durability Rating." This
rating system combines
all of the factors listed above to the composite number. To receive
this rating, each
Premier Collection style is tested under real-world conditions. The
test results are
evaluated along with its construction specifications and performance
features. Because
the rating is derived by a standardized computer model, every style
is rated consistently
from style to style and year to year.
Rating numbers range from 1.0 to
5.0.
1.0-2.5 — Recommended for light
traffic areas.
2.6-4.0 — Recommended for moderate to average traffic.
4.0 and higher — Designed for heavy traffic areas.
